Jurgen Klopp has revealed the Liverpool dressing room was left stunned by the summer arrivals of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai.
In need of a midfield overhaul after slumping to a fifth-place finish in the Premier League last term, the Reds moved quickly to seal a £35m deal for Mac Allister after outgoing sporting director Julian Ward had identified the cut-price release clause in the World Cup winner's contract at Brighton and Hove Albion.

The £95m outlay came just weeks after the Reds waved goodbye to midfield trio Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, James Milner and Naby Keita at the end of the season, with all three players leaving as free agents after the expiry of their Anfield deals.
