Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could finally achieve his dream of coaching Harry Kane.
The former Manchester United manager has been linked with an interim stint at Bayern Munich, where Kane is currently starring.
German giants Bayern are slumping ever-closer to a shock trophyless season, and Thomas Tuchel could soon be relieved of his duties if a three-game losing streak continues.
Sky Germany have run down the list of replacements for Tuchel, with Xabi Alonso and Zinedine Zidane topping the list for the summer.
However, on a short-term interim basis until the end of the season, sporting director Christoph Freund is surprisingly said to have Solskjaer in mind.
The Norwegian, who managed United between 2018 and 2021, has been out of work since his departure, but would be unlikely to turn down the chance to coach England captain Kane.
Discussing the former Tottenham man in September, Solskjaer told The Athletic: “I would have signed Kane every day of the week and my understanding was that he wanted to come.
“But the club didn’t have the budget with the financial constraints from Covid-19, there was no bottomless pit.”
Kane was linked with both Manchester clubs on multiple occasions during his time at Spurs, with the north east sides seen as a far less provocative move than a London side like Chelsea.
In fact, in 2021, Manchester City made their move for Kane, with a £100million offer resisted by chairman Daniel Levy.
That changed the course of history, with Erling Haaland instead signing a summer later and becoming a record-breaking treble winner.
Haaland too attracted interest from his fellow Norwegian Solskjaer, who listed more players he was keen to land at Old Trafford.
