With the first section of the Premier League season over and the weekend complete of this season’s initial international break, Arsenal are looking ahead to what comes next. There are seven games between now and the next break from domestic action and it includes two Champions League dates.
There have been plenty of talking points while Mikel Arteta has had to make do with watching his players from afar. Takehiro Tomiyasu enjoyed a stellar display against Kai Havertz's Germany, Gabriel Magalhaes has had an injury scare and Oleksandr Zinchenko started in midfield and scored against England.
Yet with the return of the Premier League, Arsenal will have a number of things on their list of what would make up a perfect month. With that in mind, football.london takes a look at three dream scenarios that could come to pass in September and October.
Double midfield return
There is an expectation that this month will see the return of Mohamed Elneny. The Egyptian told football.londonthat he would be, “back soon” when asked after the dramatic win over Manchester United.
However, there’s a greater focus on Thomas Partey. The Ghanaian internal suffered a groin injury in training and there has been a variety of timeframes given by his nation’s FA, his manager and other speculative reports ranging from a couple to at least six weeks.
In an ideal world, the midfielder’s return would fall on the lower end of the spectrum. Arsenal have some massive games during this period including the north London derby.
