Manchester City showed they are ready to challenge for titles again with their performance in Switzerland this week, Pep Guardiola believes.
City were a little wasteful at Young Boys and were pegged back after going ahead in their Champions League group game, but responded with an Erling Haaland brace to continue their 100 per cent record in Europe as they stand one game from qualifying for the knockout stages.
While City were far from their best Guardiola was full of praise for his side after the game and said the performance pleased him as much as wins over Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan. Those were key victories as City won the Champions League for the first time last season.

With a derby at Manchester United next on Sunday, Guardiola was asked if he held pride at turning the tables when it comes to the power balance in Manchester. His response, however, focussed more on City's midweek trip to Switzerland and what it showed him of his squad's mentality and attitude this season.
He said: "Absolutely [there is pride]. The most is the fact that we haven't done it for one year because this can happen, but it is still now. That makes me so happy as a young manager to go to Switzerland on an artificial pitch and perform as we did.
"I could say that against Liverpool or Real or Bayern Munich or Inter but to go there and still perform as we performed in terms of solidarity and how we managed the game.
