Pitso's club in Saudi out of relegation zone!

Less than a week after Pitso Mosimane's heaviest defeat of his career, Abha Club's win on the weekend has seen the team climb out of the relegation zone in Saudi Arabia for the first time since the South African's arrival.

On Sunday night, Abha claimed a hard-fought 2-1 victory over seventh-placed Al Fateh following a brace from former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak.

The 34-year-old opened the scoring just six minutes into the clash, but former Barcelona winger Cristian Tello equalised nine minutes after the break.

Krychowiak, however, ensured Abha regained the lead only moments later, with Al Fateh unable to find a way back into the game.

Al Fateh, who started the match sixth in the Saudi Pro League, are coached by former Premier League boss Slaven Bilic.

Mosimane's Abha, meanwhile, jumped from 17th on the table to 15th, a spot that would guarantee their place in the country’s top division next season.

The positive result comes only five days after Cristiano Ronaldo scored a hat-trick, which included two free-kick goals, to help inspire Al Nassr to an 8-0 win over Abha.

Appointed in January on a contract until the end of the campaign, Mosimane's objective in the Middle East is to keep his side in the Pro League.
