Postecoglou nominated for The Best FIFA Men's Coach after brilliant Spurs start
Ange Postecoglou finds himself rubbing shoulders with some of the biggest names in world football following his brilliant start to life at Tottenham
Ange Postecoglou has been nominated for 'The Best' FIFA Men's Coach award following his excellent work at Celtic and Tottenham. The 58-year-old won the domestic treble in his final year in Glasgow, Scotland, before taking the difficult task of rebuilding a disjointed north London outfit.
Since replacing Antonio Conte, Cristian Stellini and Ryan Mason in the dugout, Postecoglou has worked wonders at Hotspur Way and transformed the Lilywhites into one of the most exciting sides in the Premier League – all while overseeing the departure of Harry Kane. However, despite the Australian's rise to superstardom, he faces tough competition if wants to be named the world's best male head coach.
Pep Guardiola, Simone Inzaghi, Luciano Spalletti and Xavi have also been nominated for 'The Best' award. The former led Manchester City to a historic treble, winning the English top-flight, the FA Cup and the Champions League.
In fact, Inter Milan were tasked with the challenge of defeating City in the final but Inzaghi couldn't quite untangle Guardiola's masterful tactics. As for Spalletti, he guided Napoli to the club's first Serie A title since 1989/90, meanwhile Xavi helped Barcelona win La Liga for the first time since 2018/19 after three years of dominance in the Spanish capital.
While Postecoglou may not be the favourite for the award, he's been showered with plenty of praise for his ability to help players realise their potential. Speaking on Premier League Productions last month, Leroy Rosenior said: "It seems like everybody at that football club.
"Ange hasn’t brought many new players in.
