An update on the future of Juventus star Federico Chiesa has come to the fore online on Saturday and the news will no doubt be met with widespread concern on the part of the Bianconeri faithful.
The subject of wide-man Chiesa’s future in Turin has of course long proven a headline story, amid Juve’s efforts to tie a pivotal member of Massimiliano Allegri’s squad down for the long-term.
The Italian international’s current terms are due to expire in the summer of 2025, with negotiations between the two parties regarding a renewal having been ongoing for some time now.
The powers that be at the Allianz Stadium are in the midst of a hugely productive stretch of renewal efforts, having agreed to fresh terms with the likes of Federico Gatti, Manuel Locatelli, and Nicolò Fagioli.
The situation of Chiesa, however, appears more complicated.
As per a report from Calciomercato, the Juventus brass recently sat down with the club’s star attacker and his representatives, for a fresh round of negotiations.
The talks, however, ultimately failed to bear fruit, as Chiesa once more outlined his financial demands.
To this point, Juve have been unwilling to meet the ask of the former Fiorentina man, who is understandably seeking an improvement on his current €5 million net-per-year deal.
Hope remains of the distance between the parties being closed, but, for the time being, a definitive agreement looks some way off.
All the while, a number of Premier League clubs are keeping a close eye on Chiesa’s situation, with a view to an imminent bid.
Newcastle United are particularly keen, with London-based trio Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, and Chelsea also admirers of the talents of Juventus’ gifted winger.
