Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al Khelaifi has remained coy over the future of superstar Kylian Mbappe. The France international has been heavily linked with a move away from Paris with Real Madrid favourites to sign the forward.
Mbappe, 24, is set to become available on a free transfer in the summer once his contract at PSG expires. In 2022, the striker signed a new deal at the French giants to silence rumours linking him with Real, but rumours sparked once again when a one-year extension was not triggered by the player.
As a result, PSG are highly expected to lose their superstar on a free in the summer. After being dropped from the first team and returning, Mbappe's future is now back in the public eye with the January window approaching.
Once 2024 begins, clubs abroad will be able to sign Mbappe on a pre-contract deal. Real Madrid, Chelsea and Arsenal are among the teams showing interest, yet its Los Blancos who look the most likeliest to sign the player.
Carlo Ancelotti's side are currently without a natural number nine, with Jude Bellingham their star of the season so far. A move for Mbappe continues to be on the cards, despite Madrid's recent statement addressing claims over a potential transfer.
The statement reads: «Given information in the media about negotiations between the player Kylian Mbappe and our club, Real Madrid state that this information is categorically false. Negotiations have not taken place with a player who belongs to PSG.»
