Real Madrid have responded to victories for Barcelona and Girona earlier this weekend by defeating Celta Vigo 4-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu, ending a run of two matches without a victory.

Real Madrid took the lead when Vinicius turned in a rebound from close range. It was Antonio Rudiger who headed Luka Modric’s corner goalwards on 20 minutes. Vicente Guaita saved his effort and then Vinicius’ first as the ball came back out to him, but he could not stop the follow-up.
Vinicius was a constant threat for Real Madrid and when former Barcelona full-back Mingueza cynically pulled his shirt to stop him getting away the Brazilian reacted. The shirt had stretched almost to the point of tearing and when Vinicius got back to his feet he pushed the Celta Vigo man to the ground.
It was the second game running Vinicius had pushed an opponent for fouling him. His neck-high push on Willi Orban almost earned him a second yellow but he got away with just a booking for a previous push. This time there was also a yellow for the Real Madrid forward.
With 10 minutes left Madrid doubled their lead and again it was a Modric corner and a Rudiger header that shifted the scoreline. Modric will never lose his ability to put
