Real Madrid and Manchester City will go head-to-head in one of the best games that can be seen in the world. The English and European title holders will travel to the Spanish capital to take on Los Blancos in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals, as both sides seek to get a good result for the return at Etihad Stadium in a week’s time.

Madrid will be looking to avenge last year’s semi-final defeat to Pep Guardiola’s side, who booked their ticket to the trophy decider with a 4-0 thrashing of the Spanish team in Manchester.

The 14-time European champions are comfortably leading LaLiga, while in Europe they have looked quite solid too. They lost Karim Benzema last summer, but Vinícius Júnior, Rodrygo Goes and the addition of Jude Bellingham mean Madrid are a real threat to any team.

City, meanwhile, will hope star striker Erling Haaland’s scoring drought is now firmly behind him, after he ended a five-game goalless run for club and country at the weekend. He will be surrounded by the likes of Kevin de Bruyne and Phil Foden in what is expected to be a great event over the two legs.
