Manchester United endured a day of huge change at Old Trafford today as Sir Jim Ratcliffe's arrival edges ever closer.
MEN Sport reported last week Ratcliffe had been conducting virtual meetings with Joel Glazer about a restructuring of the United boardroom ahead of his expected 25 per cent acquisition. And the first big change has already been announced with Richard Arnold relieved of his CEO duties.
This position will be filled in the interim by Patrick Stewart but Arnold is unlikely to be the only departure. Speculation around the future of football director John Murtough remains.

Arnold has described his time working for United as an 'incredible privilege' ahead of his departure. Arnold is set to leave United at the end of the year and the news of his scheduled exit emerged on Wednesday morning.
The club have now officially announced Arnold, who holds the position of CEO at Old Trafford, is to leave before the end of 2023 and he'll depart having held different positions at United.

Sir Dave Brailsford has been visiting United’s Carrington training complex ahead of the Ineos Group’s impending investment into the club.
Brailsford, the sporting director of Ineos, is understood to have made at least two trips to Carrington in recent weeks. Brailsford was driven onto the premises in a blacked-out vehicle.
