Sancho's troubled spell at Old Trafford has come to an end, temporarily at least, after the breakdown of his relationship with United boss Erik ten Hag.
The 23-year-old joined Manchester United from Dortmund in 2021, but he struggled to make an impact before clashing with Ten Hag over his lack of playing time. As a result, he returns to play at the Signal Iduna Park until the end of the season at least.
The English winger admitted in an interview for Dortmund's YouTube channel that Marcos Reus helped him make the decision to leave Old Trafford in January. He was shown a video of him talking to his former teammates in a pre-season friendly.
"That Vegas clip, he [Reus] was telling me to come back to Dortmund. That's inside information and he said 'Whenever you're ready bro I'm here'.
"I've always had it in my mind that if it didn't work out somewhere, BVB is a place I know and everyone knows me inside out. It's good to know the club and the players back me," he said.
