Pancake Day, or Shrove Tuesday, is a day celebrated in many countries around the world.
But here in Merseyside it's known primarily by the name Pancake Tuesday. It has a long history that dates back as far as 1439 and comes from the traditional feast day before the start of Lent on Ash Wednesday.
The official name for the calendar day is Shrove Tuesday but people from Liverpool will know it only as Pancake Tuesday and other regions call it Pancake day or even Skipping Day. To help settle it we asked the question on Facebook, to see what people in the area know the day as.
