The player spoke about his aspirations for the remainder of the season
It's no coincidence that Inter Miami's first piece of silverware came just after the arrivals of Barcelona legendsLionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alaba. The team, owned by David Beckham, were crowned Champions of the League's Cup at the end of August after an epic run of results in the new competition.
Busquets, who has been instrumental in the team's recent triumph in the heart of midfield, is now hungry for more and insisted that he the team are desperate to build on their recent success. The player spoke ahead of their second final in two months as they prepare battle it out with Houston Dynamo for the U.S. Open Cup.
«It comes down to doing the work that you have been doing throughout the season and continuing along the same lines. I believe that we have been growing, that we have been taking steps forward in the right direction and we do not have to put any more pressure on ourselves,» began Busquets.
«It is clear that there's a trophy at stake over 90 minutes and things can go one way or the other, but we have to prepare for it with the maximum enthusiasm, the maximum ambition, and try to make the small details work in our favor, because that's what decides finals, whether there's a lapse in concentration, a good individual moment or some teamwork.
»We don't have to put pressure on ourselves, because I believe that it would not be the right thing to do and I believe that things are heading in the right direction here," concluded an optimistic Busquets.
