Sheffield United could be without 10 players for Arsenal clash amid Mikel Arteta injury wait
Sheffield United have a huge list of injury woes ahead of their Premier League clash against Arsenal tomorrow. The Blades have struggled since gaining promotion to the English top-flight, sitting bottom of the table after nine matches.
Next up for the Yorkshire-based club is a trip to the Emirates Stadium, where they will take on Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, who are one of just two Premier League sides yet to lose a league match this term. The Gunners are currently third in the standings, two points behind league leaders Tottenham Hotspur going into this weekend’s fixtures.
Ahead of tomorrow’s game in north London, United have plenty of injury woes, with Sky Sports reporting that as many as ten first-team players could be sidelined for the match. Chris Basham, Anel Ahmedhodžić, George Baldock, Will Osula, Oli McBurnie, Rhys Norrington-Davies, John Egan, Tom Davies, Max Lowe and Daniel Jebbison all are suffering from injury woes at the minute.
Meanwhile, Arteta has very few fitness concerns to worry about going into Saturday’s fixture. Jurrien Timber remains the only long-term absence for the Spaniard as the versatile defender continues his rehabilitation after sustaining an ACL injury back in August.
It remains to be seen whether or not midfielder Thomas Partey will be available having missed Tuesday night’s 2-1 victory over Sevilla due to a thigh issue. Gabriel Jesus is the other doubt for the Gunners, with the Brazilian international picking up a slight muscle problem during the latter stages of the win in Spain.
