Italy has high hopes for Euro 2024. More than anything else: they are the reigning champions. That is why Luciano Spalletti is taking professionalism to unimaginable levels. To the point of banning the use of PlayStation in the 'Azzurri's training camps.
The coach confessed in an interview with 'La Gazzetta dello Sport': "Some people thought that I bark and then I have no teeth, but they're wrong. From now on, they will leave the PlayStations at home. I'm going to create a game for them to think about to distract them during the night. In the 'Nazionale' you stay focused, you don't joke around".
Luciano Spalletti went further: "I can put up with mobile phones, but not during massages and treatments. I spoke about video games because there were things I didn't like and I ask you to write 'no' in capital letters. I want the old training camps, with good old habits and atmosphere. Simple things, Gigi (Buffon) will help me with that".
"If modernity is playing PlayStation until 4am with the game the next day, then it doesn't work. Today's kids would rather post a picture on Instagram with their hair done than put their heads down and work. These are not the values that my Italy should be transmitting. You come here to win the European Championship, not to win at Call of Duty.
