Raging Steven Naismith has declared Rangers should NOT have been an awarded a penalty in the closing stages of their Ibrox defeat.
And the Hearts boss declared that VAR had "failed" his side as he claimed referee John Beaton told him he was not shown an angle of a "block" in the build-up to the spot-kick. However, the game would be flipped on it's head when substitute Peter Haring appeared to pull Connor Goldson's shirt - and after a VAR check whistler Beaton was sent to the monitor to review the incident and pointed to the spot. James Tavernier would convert Rangers second penalty of the afternoon - having hit the post with his first-half effort - before Danilo netted an injury-time winner for Philippe Clement's men.
And Naismith was left fuming at the full-time whistle, telling BBC Sportsound: "The penalty is a defining moment in the game. It's not a penalty.

Then the penalty they get, the initial contact is made by a player blocking our player, which VAR should then go and look at.
"I spoke to the referee after it and he said he wasn't shown any images where there was a block. So I don't know if there has been a miscommunication or what the process is, but ultimately it has failed us today."
