SuperSport United head coach Gavin Hunt is hopeful that Grant Margeman can continue to produce the goods as they prepare to face Stellenbosch at the Danie Craven Stadium on Saturday night.
Kick-off is at 8pm CAT (SA, GMT+2)
The 25-year-old midfielder was one of the standout players for Hunt's side last season and his impressive performances persuaded Matsatsantsa to make the loan deal from Mamelodi Sundowns permanent in July.
Margeman has played every minute of their three DStv Premiership games this term as the Tshwane giants picked up seven points to maintain their unbeaten start to proceedings, recording a 1-0 win over Cape Town City most recently.
There's been a noticeable shift in his style of play and Hunt acknowledges the Bafana Bafana international has been given the freedom of the pitch to express himself.
"Ja [it's an instruction from me], he's got that in his make-up but he doesn't do it enough, I think he's got so much speed over 10, 15 metres he can play combinations," Hunt said.
"We don't play with defensive midfield players and attacking midfield players, I don't believe in that - so we need to understand the moments of the game.
"And he's good in those moments, he can give us more, but the games he's played here, he's been good for us - long may it continue but yes, it's an instruction from me."
Stellies (5th) trail second-placed SuperSport by just one point after they battled back from a goal down to beat Royal AM 3-1 in Pietermaritzburg on August 18.
Steve Barker's side bounced back from their first defeat of the campaign which saw them go down 1-0 to newly-promoted Polokwane City nine days earlier, having secured a morale-boosting 1-0 win over Orlando Pirates on the opening weekend.
