Sweden warned that they were going to back the Spanish players and their announced show of support took place before the start of the UEFA Nations League match.
After posing for photographers separately, the two teams united and unfurled a banner bearing the message «It's over. Our fight is a global fight.»

The Swedish fans in the stands of the Gamla Ullevi wanted to show their support to the players of the Spanish national team, their rival on the first day of the UEFA Nations League and the team that eliminated Sweden in the semifinals of the World Cup.

One more sign of support from the Gteborg crowd for the Spanish team came in a standing ovation when they took to the pitch to warm up. It was even louder than the home team's ovation.
