Real Madrid midfielder Arda Guler admitted that injuries and a lack of playing time have made his first season at Madrid "very difficult so far" but wished that after his first goal, against Celta, "better things" would come.
"It was wonderful to score in this spectacular atmosphere. I'm very happy to have scored my first goal and very grateful to all the people who support me. I hope that many more will come. I will work hard for it," he said.
"It's incredible the feeling of scoring at the Bernabeu. It was a great game and I congratulate the team for the 4-0 win. I thank those who are supporting me because it has been a very difficult season so far, but I hope for better things to come from today," he added.
Guler said he is "very happy" to play for Real Madrid, "the best club in the world", and highlighted the personality he has to overcome bad moments. "Even if it's difficult, I think I have the quality and the character to overcome it."
