Former Everton striker Kevin Campbell says that it is 'vital' Sean Dyche is handed attacking reinforcements before the transfer window shuts whilst fearing another relegation battle is on the cards.
So far the Blues have been subject to a two Premier League defeats from their opening two matches - a 1-0 home loss to Fulham in which numerous chances failed to hit the back of the net and a 4-0 mauling at the hands of Aston Villa that also saw Dominic Calvert-Lewin leave the field with a facial injury after 37-minutes.
The results leave the club at the bottom of the table on goal difference and the fact there have been no goals to speak of so far - bar Michael Keane's contentious ruled-out strike on opening day - have heightened fears of a third successive relegation bout.
Campbell, the scorer of 48 goals in 157 Everton appearances between 1999 and 2005, is just one supporter of the club fearing the worse. Speaking to Sky Sports about the current predicament he has stressed the need for more numbers in attack heading into a vital campaign.

"I'll be honest with you, I think it [more signings] is vital.
"There are a few players Everton are trying to acquire, one particularly from Leeds," he said in subtle reference to Wilfried Gnonto. "I think that's three bids and it's still not happened, they're desperate to get him over the line and they've got to make things happen."
