Rob Edwards has pointed out that while Everton are still facing another potential points deduction if found guilty of further Profit and Sustainability (PSR) rule breaches, it is good that rivals now have some clarity on the situation.
The Luton boss stated that the decision was "out of our hands" and urged his players to centre their attentions on their own performances in order to maintain their Premier League status. Previously, Everton were penalised with a 10-point deduction due to breaches of the Premier League's PSR in November, however, this has now been lowered to six following an appeal.
The club now face a second complaint related to the PSR rules over the assessment period running to the end of last season. As a consequence of the appeal result, Luton are now four points away from safety in the relegation zone.

Everton points deduction: punishment reduced in appeal verdict
Everton have climbed the league table, overtaking Nottingham Forest and Brentford, taking 15th position.
As preparation gets underway for their FA Cup fifth-round match against Manchester City, Edwards said: “We were in the bottom three before it anyway, but now it looks like we’re four points behind Nottingham Forest with a game in hand so the situation is the same from our point of view. It’s good that there’s a bit of clarity.
“It was going to be hard anyway. We’re in a difficult league and it’s been tough from day one. There are more charges, but that’s completely out of our hands and control.
“What’s in our control is our performances, how hard we work and I wish we can control results, but we can’t. If we don’t do our job then it doesn’t matter anyway.”
