If you love live music like me then you will absolutely love this city.
Just this weekend alone Liverpool is putting on two huge music festivals for people to enjoy - and that's excluding the summer full of events that lie ahead (my bank account is crying already).
This weekend the popular Smithdown Road has put on its own four day music event which will see dozens of bands from rock, indie and jazz, as well as DJ's and much more take to the bustling bars the area has to offer. And, what's even better...the event, Smithdown Weekender, is completely free. So with that, I had to go check it out.

The four-day festival, which launched nine years ago, kicked off last night (Fri) and will be running until Monday, across multiple venues. It's a great way to see local talent and for those who love live music it's definitely something not to miss - all while checking out some of the city's favourite bars and pubs.
Since moving here three weeks ago I've been told that I must head to Penny Lane to check out its bars and pubs - so last night I did just that. We hit Penny Lane Wine Bar, which was hosting singers, Ellie Chadwick & Rory and Sofa & Caesar, on Friday eve - you can check out what other bands are playing over the course of the bank holiday on their Instagram here.
