Everton forward Tom Cannon continues to be the subject of serious interest from a number of clubs in the Championship.
The ECHO has previously reported that Preston North End and Sunderland are interested in signing the forward this summer, but it has now emerged that Birmingham City and Sheffield Wednesday are also interested in adding the 20-year-old to their ranks.
However, the ECHO also understands that Everton are unlikely to sanction any deal involving Cannon until the club has boosted its own attacking options. So far, Arnaut Danjuma has been recruited from Villarreal, but work is continuing behind the scenes to try and add more attacking additions to Sean Dyche's squad.
After making his first-team debut in a Carabao Cup tie against Bournemouth in November, Cannon spent the second half of the campaign on loan at North End. The forward’s time at Deepdale was successful, as he scored eight times in 21 appearances.

North End have already held talks with Everton about re-signing the forward this summer, while Cannon, who is currently nursing a hamstring injury, also watched Ryan Lowe’s side take on Aberdeen at Deepdale on Saturday as a guest of North End midfielder Ryan Ledson.
Speaking after Preston’s pre-season draw with Fleetwood Town on Tuesday night, Lowe revealed he is hoping to get some positive transfer news this week.
