During Sunday's fiery North London Derby, a Spurs supporter was caught in a bit of a kit kerfuffle, sporting an Arsenal shirt beneath their Tottenham top.
The fan, who had made the journey to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, donned a Spurs jersey with 'Son 7' emblazoned on the back. Yet, it was the peek of an 'Odegaard 8' Arsenal shirt underneath that raised eyebrows among the crowd.
This fashion faux pas set social media ablaze, with supporters expressing their shock and amusement at the dual allegiance. Piers Morgan couldn't resist chiming in with a quip: «Proof that inside every poor little Spurs fan is a Gooner desperate to get out!»
One disheartened fan lamented: «The way the Premier League has gone, unfortunately,» before another chimed in, questioning the intensity of the rivalry: «And we get told this is the fiercest derby in Britain!»
Others found humour in the situation, with one fan speculating: «This is hilarious… He must be an Arsenal fan inside, but came to support his national team player.» Meanwhile, another simply stated: «Sorry but turning up to the North London Derby like this is wild!»
On the field, Arsenal quickly took control with goals from Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz, coupled with an own goal by Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. Despite a second-half rally from Spurs, with strikes from Cristian Romero and Son Heung-min, the Gunners held firm to secure a triumphant return to the Emirates Stadium with all three points.
