Aston Villa's top scorer Ollie Watkins has insisted that their heavy defeat to Tottenham doesn't reflect their whole season.
The match at Villa Park saw fourth-placed Villa take on fifth-placed Spurs, with Unai Emery's team starting strong but ultimately being outplayed by Tottenham in the second half.
Goals from James Maddison and Brennan Johnson were followed by a red card for Villa captain John McGinn after a dangerous tackle on Destiny Udogie.

«Really disappointing,» said Villa striker Watkins. «First half I felt we had a few opportunities on the break, I had an opportunity myself, I've chopped back, maybe I should shoot.
»But I felt in the first half they didn't cause us too many problems, I think they had one corner. Second half we've come out a little bit slow and they're always quick coming out in the second half.
«They've scored two goals really quickly and it's very difficult against a good side to come back from 2-0. Obviously, with our captain getting sent off as well, it was difficult.»

The result allowed Spurs to close the gap to fourth-placed Villa to just two points, on a day when Emery's men could have extended their lead to a massive eight points.
Ollie Watkins admitted the heavy home defeat was a setback but insisted it is not the end of the season for Aston Villa.
«The ref said he checked it but (Micky Van De Ven) has definitely caught my Achilles there,» the England international
