Tottenham have held talks over a potential move from Nice centre-back Jean-Clair Todibo, football.london understands. A position of priority for the club in the January transfer window, Ange Postecoglou currently has limited numbers in that area of the pitch available to him following some bad luck on the injury front.
Losing Micky van de Ven until early next year after he sustained a hamstring injury at the beginning of November in the 4-1 defeat against Chelsea, Spurs also had to do without Cristian Romero for a period of three games following his dismissal in the same fixture. Summer signing Ashley Phillips is another currently on the sidelines after the highly-rated centre-back picked up an ankle injury during November's international break.

The 23-year-old. who made his senior France bow against Germany back in September, has continued to excel in Ligue 1 and has come to the attention of a number of clubs including Manchester United and Newcastle United.
Todibo has played a huge part in Nice's fine start to the Ligue 1 campaign, with Franceso Farioli's team currently second in the standings and behind league leaders PSG. The defender was involved in their 3-1 defeat to Le Harvre on Saturday, playing 81 minutes of the contest before receiving a red card.
