VIDEO: Griezmann and De Paul on Atletico’s first leg win vs Dortmund
Atletico Madrid managed to claim an important victory in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Borussia Dortmund at the Civitas Metropolitano, extending the 'Colchoneros' unbeaten home record in the knockout rounds of the European competition since Simeone arrived at the club in the 2011/12 season.
The 'Colchoneros' came out all guns blazing in the first half and managed to take advantage of the German club's slack defence to take a two-goal lead, a blow to the morale of Edin Terzic's side, who managed to pull one back through Haller in the second half.
Opening goal scorer Rodrigo de Paul and Antoine Griezmann gave their thoughts on their win over the Bundesliga side and both were happy to travel to Alemania with a slender lead, although they know it will be a tough task to seal their place in the semi-finals at Signal Iduna Park.
