Virgil van Dijk has made a brutal dig as a Manchester United fan described their 7-0 defeat to Liverpool as the worst day of their lives.
The Dutchman was a part of the Reds squad that inflicted misery on Erik ten Hag's side at Anfield in March. Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah all scored twice with Roberto Firmino compiling their wretched evening.
Salah's brace saw him overtake Liverpool icon Robbie Fowler to become the all-time Premier League goalscorer as Firmino contributed one of his final acts in a red shirt before he departed for Saudi Arabia in the summer.
The evening on Merseyside was one of the many highlights for Jurgen Klopp against Liverpool's fierce rivals after enjoying a dominant run over their North West neighbours, during the German's tenure. And in a recent media appearance with Pro Direct Soccer, Van Dijk made a ruthless quip at presenter, Harry Pinero, who supports United.
The Liverpool captain was put to the test over his music knowledge and fell behind in the contest, before coming back to win - something the Reds have made a habit of this season.
As "Dirty Old Town" by the Pogues played, a song altered for Van Dijk on the terraces. Pinero said: "7-6, let's go."
To which, Van Dijk replied: "You like seven, no? Sorry."
Following the contest, the 32-year-old said that results against their rivals of that magnitude should not be taken for granted. And he is clearly still enjoying the result with United fans as his response left the presenter
