Jurgen Klopp celebrates his eighth anniversary as Liverpool manager today, having been named as Brendan Rodgers’ replacement on October 8, 2015.
When taking over at Anfield, he memorably vowed to turn ‘doubters into believers,’ and declared: "If I sit here in four years, I am pretty confident we will have one title." Come 2019, Liverpool would be crowned champions of Europe and the world, with a maiden Premier League title following at the end of his fourth full season as he lived up to his lofty prediction.
A further four years down the line and the Reds have won every major honour under the German’s watch. Yet each trophy has only been lifted once, with Liverpool suffering plenty of agonising near-misses along the way.
After a disappointing transitional campaign last year, a revamped attack and midfield has seen Klopp unleash his 2.0 side - ‘Liverpool FC reloaded’. Now he is out to create history at Anfield all over again.

Last season, the German inevitably lost the sparkle in his eyes as Liverpool floundered across the board. Week after week he was downbeat and frustrated when facing the media, disheartened by how his side had declined suddenly off the back of nearly winning an unprecedented quadruple just months earlier.
Yet Klopp saw such a transition coming. It is partly why he signed his latest extension in April 2022.
"I’m not saying it’s the biggest challenge, but it’s a challenge, and it was one of the main reasons why I signed a new contract because I knew it’s necessary,” the Liverpool boss said when speaking to the BT Sport podcast Michael Calvin's Football
