Wayne Rooney has admitted he has learned nothing from his time coaching the MLS All-Stars.
The Manchester United legend was in charge of the MLS All-Stars as they took on Arsenal in a pre-season friendly on Wednesday night.
The Gunners tore the side apart 5-0 with goals from Kai Havertz, Leandro Trossard and Jorginho included.
But Rooney, usually manager of DC United, has revealed he has not taken anything away from the contest to boost his own coaching repertoire.
The ex-Derby boss took charge of two training sessions, though the second was more of a spectacle after a makeshift pitch was made up at the National Mall where the team practised head tennis.
Rooney said: «As I suggested, I didn't want them training at the National Mall but that's where we trained.
»We can't do anything, we were willing to do head tennis.
«So we literally had no time to do any tactics whatsoever.
»You put the players out there and hope that they can figure things out, and against a team like Arsenal that's very difficult to do."
When asked what he took away from the game, Rooney replied with a smile: «Absolutely nothing.»
Rooney picked half of the All-Stars 28-man roster with fans picking the rest of the squad.
Included were former Liverpool and Crystal Palace star Christian Benteke, ex-Barcelona ace Riqui Puig and Borussia Dortmund's old goalkeeper Roman Burki.
But Arsenal made light work of the MLS team, thrashing them 5-0 after Jesus, Trossard, Jorginho, Havertz and Gabriel Martinelli all got on the scoresheet.
Rooney added: «You try and make it a bit of fun and try and let the players have a good experience.
»And of course it's great for some players to play against some top players.
