West Ham have Monaco’s Youssouf Fofana on their list of potential targets to replace Declan Rice.
Rice completed his £105million move to Arsenal on Saturday leaving West Ham with a huge void to fill following the departure of their captain.
They have had talks over and made bids for a number of possible replacements including Fulham’s Joao Palhinha, Juventus’s Denis Zakaria and Ajax’s Edson Alvarez.
They also have interest in Manchester United’s Scott McTominay, Southampton’s James Ward-Prowse and Manchester City’s Kalvin Phillips.
France international Fofana is another name under consideration.
He joined Monaco from Strasbourg in January 2020 for around £15m and developed into one of the Ligue 1 side’s biggest assets.
The 24 year-old was a near ever present last season.
While some of their rivals will look to exploit the fact West Ham have just sold Rice for a British record fee, Monaco are open to doing business at a price the London Stadium club may well consider more reasonable.
They are thought to want between £26m and £31m for Fofana, who has 10 caps for his country and also understood to have attracted interest from elsewhere in the Premier League.
