What Arsenal fans chanted about Declan Rice as West Ham trolled
Arsenal supporters have poked fun at West Ham United with a chant about Declan Rice during their Carabao Cup clash on Wednesday evening. The Gunners signed Rice from the Hammers during the summer transfer window, splashing out a club-record £105million to prise the England international away from the London Stadium.
Since then, the tough-tackling midfielder has been excellent, delivering a number of impressive displays to help Mikel Arteta's side climb up to second in the current Premier League standings. On Wednesday night, the 24-year-old returned to his former stomping ground, met with plenty of applause from the West Ham faithful.
Arsenal fans made sure to joke with the home side, at one point chanting: «Declan Rice, he left cause you're (expletive)!» Rice was named on the bench for the match, with Jorginho, Fabio Vieira and Kai Havertz starting in the centre of the park for the north Londoners.
Vieira netted his first goal of the season last weekend, converting a penalty during his side's 5-0 victory over Sheffield United. That game also saw Takehiro Tomiyasu find the back of the net, the first time he had done so since joining from Bologna a little over two years ago.

Meanwhile, Eddie Nketiah netted his first Premier League hat-trick on the day, scoring twice from close range before firing in a thunderous long-range strike past Wes Foderingham. Nketiah led the line in Gabriel Jesus' absence after the Brazilian international picked up a hamstring injury last week against Sevilla.
