Los Blancos beat Manchester City to set up a Champions League semi-final clash against Bayern, who got past Arsenal.
Real Madrid got past Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals on penalties after a dramatic tie at the Etihad Stadium which saw them draw 1-1 (4-4) after extra-time.
Over in Germany, Bayern Munich beat Arsenal 1-0 in a cagey game that saw the Germans come away with a 3-2 aggregate win, setting up one of Europe’s classic fixtures.
The last time these two sides played against each other was back in the 2017-18 season. On that occasion, it came in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals, with Madrid winning the away leg 1-2 before drawing 2-2 at home and getting through on aggregate thanks to a double at the Santiago Bernabéu from Karim Benzema.
The two sides have played each other a whopping 26 times, with Real Madrid holding the slight advantage of 12 wins to Bayern’s 11. The two sides have drawn on 3 occasions.
As for goals, Real Madrid have scored 41 while Bayern have managed to put 39 past Los Blancos, highlighting the equality between the two sides.
