The Reds last tasted success in the competition during the 2021-22 season after winning the tournament for the eighth time. Their defence came to an end when they suffered a late defeat at Brighton & Hove Albion in the fourth round last term.
Jurgen Klopp's side are among the Premier League contingent entering the draw on Sunday, with reigning champions Manchester City and runners-up Manchester United also looking to replicate their success.
The Blues last reached the semi-finals in 2016 where they were beaten by Manchester United, their best performances since came in back-to-back years in 2021 and 2022 as they exited in the quarter-finals to Manchester City and Crystal Palace respectively.
The draw for the third round of the FA Cup will be made prior to National League side Eastleigh take on Reading, formerly of the Premier League, on Sunday, December 3.
Liverpool will be among those awaiting who they will face in early January, as the ties will be picked during the build-up of Sunday's encounter from 1pm.
