A Welsh side losing in the final of the Scottish Challenge Cup has been mocked by fans of a Saudi Arabian club on social media.
The New Saints (TNS) lost 2-1 in the final of the competition on Sunday to Scottish side Airdrieonians.
Fans of Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal - who boast the likes of Neymar in their team - heralded the victory for the second tier Scottish side, due to a bizarre rivalry with TNS.
Their feud centered around a dispute for the Guinness World Record for most wins in a row.
The Welsh teams laid claim to a record-equalling run with their 27th on the spin against Newtown, only to be later told that it doesn't officially qualify since their fourth round tie with East Fife in October was settled by penalties.
Al Hilal then took the record legitimately with their 28th successive win against Al-Ittihad earlier this month, and have since extended it to 29.
Fans of the Saudi club were quick to mock TNS after the Welsh side suffered their first loss since August 1 when they exited the Europa Conference League in Luxembourg. A win would also have made it 34 on the spin (including penalties).
A host of Al Hilal supporters barraged TNS's social media post at the full-time whistle with laughing emojis.
One fan said: 'You will not become Al Hilal,' while another wrote 'Try again... the pursuit of Al Hilal is very difficult'.
Another supporter said Al Hilal were 'always first' and told TNS to 'stay away from the big world'.
While another posted a graphic showing Al Hilal holding the record for the longest winning streak in football.
Al Hilal have dominated the Saudi Pro League this season with a team consisting the likes of Neymar, Aleksandar Mitrovic, Ruben Neves and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
