Graeme Souness, the former Sky Sports pundit, is set to return to TV punditry and will be providing analysis for Liverpool's FA Cup quarter-final against Manchester United on Sunday.
Souness had taken a step back from his television duties at the end of last season after working with the broadcaster for 15 years. Since then, he has mainly been offering his insights on radio.
At 70 years old, Souness is still highly respected at Anfield for his achievements as both a player and a manager. According to The Mail, he is expected to join the ITV broadcast team for this weekend's big match at Old Trafford, where he'll be reunited with his former Sky Sports colleague, Roy Keane.
Liverpool are currently leading the Premier League and have already won the Carabao Cup this season. A win against United would give Jurgen Klopp, who is stepping down in the summer, a great chance to secure all three domestic trophies in his final season.
Souness shared last summer that his departure from Sky was a mutual decision, but he was open to staying on for another year. He made it clear that he wasn't planning to retire and was open to more opportunities, reports the Mirror.
"[It was] mutual. I mean, I was keen to stay another year," Souness told The Guardian. "They thought it would be a good idea that we called it a day, gave their reasons and I accepted that and have zero complaints about Sky."
"I worked for them maybe 15 years solid but it's more like 20 years. They've been great for me, gave me the weekends to look forward to, the buzz of live football."
He continued: "Yes [I'll miss it]. But I'm in discussions with other people and we'll go again. There's plenty of spark left in me yet."
Souness chalked up over 350 games for Liverpool
