The majority of Manchester United fans didn't concern themselves with the postponement of the Africa Cup of Nations in July.
The tournament, which was to be held in the Ivory Coast, was forced to be postponed due to adverse summer weather concerns and it was agreed that AFCON would now take place between 13 January 2024 and 11 February instead.
When that postponement was announced, there were no players in Erik ten Hag's plans that were affected but goalkeeper Andre Onana signed from Inter Milan just a few weeks later.

Onana made his debut for Cameroon in 2016 and he featured at AFCON 2021. The 'keeper made a crucial save on penalties to ensure his side secured a third-place finish at the tournament, although his international career has been interesting since.
As expected, Onana was named in Cameroo's squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, but he played the first match against Switzerland before being dropped in the second against Serbia, which he didn't agree with.
There were reports of a dispute with manager Rigobert Song about team tactics and he was sent home. Onana later confirmed his retirement from international football in a lengthy, emotional statement on social media.
"Players come and go, names are fleeting, but Cameroon comes before any person or player,'' Onana wrote, without giving a reason for his decision. "Cameroon remains eternal and so does my love for the national team.''
The president of the Cameroon Football Federation, Samuel Eto'o, formerly of Barcelona and Inter Milan, finally broke his silence on the episode in May. "It's not unusual for a player to adopt an attitude or say things that go beyond his thoughts," he said.
