Arsenal were able to secure a strong win over Luton Town despite Mikel Arteta making as many as five changes to the side. Martin Odegaard opened the scoring after some brilliant work from Emile Smith Rowe and Kai Havertz.
The Hale End graduate was involved in the second, forcing an own goal from Daiki Hashioka. The two goals were enough to take the Gunners to the summit of the table before Liverpool host Sheffield United on Thursday.

Reiss Nelson was chosen for the right-wing position with Bukayo Saka not passed fit for the game. It was an interesting selection considering Gabriel Jesus and Fabio Vieira were available but Nelson started brightly.
However, there were some issues in the opening stages. Waiting for a slow pass from Odegaard lost possession and there were several occasions where the ball turned over and it took Nelson a few seconds to switch on and chase back to the frustration of his manager.
However, it was Ben White who was a constant source of encouragement, pushing Nelson on and calling him to make runs. It was his darting run into the box which ultimately led to the second goal being forced in from the Emile Smith Rowe cross – a successful showing.
