A woman has been arrested after a serious sexual assault in Liverpool city centre.
Merseyside Police were called to the Podworks Hotel on Henry Street at around 3am this morning. Security staff told police that a woman had left the hotel in distress, the ECHO reports.
Following a search of the area, officers managed to find the woman, in her 30s, and she was taken to hospital where she was treated for injuries sustained during the incident. It is believed that she was subjected to a serious sexual assault.

A 37-year-old woman, from Stoke-on-Trent, has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault of a female and has been taken to a police station where she will be interviewed by police.
Detective Chief Inspector Paul Parry, said: "The 34-year-old victim is currently supported by officers from the specialist Unity team.
