Erik ten Hag has made his preferred signings pretty obvious in his reign as Manchester United manager so far.
Though Casemiro bucked the trend, the United manager has tended to target players he is already familiar with either having coached them personally or having known them from his time in Dutch football.
Antony and Lisandro Martinez played for him extensively at Ajax, Christian Eriksen trained in Amsterdam while recovering from cardiac arrest, Wout Weghorst and Tyrell Malacia are Dutch and even Mason Mount spent some time in the Eredivisie on loan at Vitesse Arnhem.
With Ten Hag needing to revolutionise his squad as soon as possible, there is little room for risky signings that may not work out. So getting players he knows can play his style and fulfil tasks asked of them helps ensure United begin to form in his image quicker.
