Celtic did what was needed to win the Old Firm derby
Ferocity, controversy and finesse typified Sunday’s Old Firm collision — and Brendan Rodgers can now, privately at least, feel a greater conviction about the destination of the Premiership title.
Celtic’s 2-1 win over Rangers could well prove to be the pivotal moment in a competitive season, with the benefit of hindsight at the business end. Time will tell. The engineering of middle to front in Celtic’s ranks proved superior on the day, for all of Rangers’ resilience at times and, admittedly, some rough luck too.
