Our colleagues at Sports Zone report this evening that PSG are struggling to obtain offers for a member of their “undesirables” group in particular, as this collection of players that they want to leave continue to train away from the 1st team.
The player in question is 29-year-old German international and attacking midfielder Julian Draxler, who has another 12 months remaining on his PSG contract.
The player’s agent, Roger Wittman, is exploring the Turkish market mainly, whilst hoping that more established teams on the European continent spark into life in terms of their interest level for the player as we enter the final days of the summer transfer window.
In Turkey so far, Wittman has only been able to entice interest from Adana Demispor and MKE Ankaragücü – two teams that are expected to finish mid-table at best in this season’s Süper Lig.
Wittman has also been able to attract one offer from the Saudi Pro League for Draxler, coming from El Fateh, who are managed by Slaven Bilić.
Sources at PSG question whether the player even wants to play football anymore. In the meantime, PSG director Antero Henrique, who is also the Sporting Director of the Qatar Stars League, is seeking to fashion an exit door in that league for Draxler as a potential fail-safe.
