According to Foot Mercato journalist Sébastian Denis, Ajax are planning to make a bid to bring Nicolás Tagliafico back to the club from Lyon. The Argentine left Ajax to join Lyon in 2022 for a fee of €4m, and is contracted to the club until 2025.
The World Cup winner has reportedly met with Ajax sporting director Sven Mislintat to discuss possibly returning to Amsterdam. Following the discussions with Arsenal’s former director of football, the World Cup winner is open to returning to his former club this summer. He made 38 appearances in his first season in France, scoring once.
OL’s stance on their willingness to sell their starting left back remains unknown. The 30-year-old scored Lyon’s first goal of the season against Strasbourg, although it wasn’t enough to avoid defeat. Laurent Blanc’s defence has undergone much change this summer following Malo Gusto’s departure to Chelsea and Castello Lukeba’s to RB Leipzig.
