Perhaps one of the most pleasing aspects of Tottenham's 4-0 drubbing of Aston Villa on Sunday was Ange Postecoglou's attacking players having a pivotal say on the game. Boasting some real quality in the final third, everything came together for Spurs as they recorded an eye-catching win in the race for fourth.
Getting into some decent positions in the opening 45 minutes but lacking the quality to really trouble their opponents, Tottenham clicked into gear in the second half and took the lead through James Maddison five minutes after the break. Three minutes later it was 2-0 following Brennan Johnson's smart finish in the box, with the Lilywhites capitalising on John McGinn's red card to add further goals from Son Heung-min and Timo Werner in stoppage time.
A win that could have a huge say on the race for the final Champions League place come the end of the season, things appear to be falling into place for Tottenham in attack at exactly the perfect time. If they can carry on their outstanding showing from the 4-0 triumph at Villa Park then they will take some stopping in their remaining 11 games of the Premier League campaign.
Tottenham certainly haven't seen the best of Maddison since he returned in late January from the ankle injury that left him sidelined for almost three months. Grabbing two assists in the recent games against Everton and Crystal Palace, the England international netted his first goal for Spurs since late October after managing to get a foot to Pape Matar Sarr's sumptuous cross.
So pivotal for Tottenham in the opening months of the campaign as they made such an impressive start under Postecoglou, the summer signing has an integral role to play in what remains of the season as the team target a Champions
