Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keeping tabs on Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White ahead of the summer transfer window. Earlier this week, it was announced that Forest had been docked four points for breaching profit and sustainability rules with the threat of a further punishment prominent unless their financial situation improves.
Selling a marquee first-team player would certainly be one way of ensuring the club's monetary concerns disappear and Gibbs-White certainly fits into that category. The 24-year-old arrived at the City Ground in the summer of 2022, joining from Wolves in a deal that could rise to £42million, and was key in ensuring Forest avoided relegation in their first season back in the Premier League.
Because of his importance, Gibbs-White has captained Forest on a number of occasions this season with five goals and four assists to his name across 33 games in all competitions. Following their points deduction, Gibbs-White will likely have a huge role to play in Forest potentially avoiding relegation again, however beyond the summer it is looking increasingly unlikely he stays for another season.
According to talkSPORT, both West Ham and Tottenham are in the race to sign the English midfielder with Ange Postecoglou a huge fan. The relationship between Spurs and Forest is also strong following the successful negotiations for the transfer of Brennan Johnson this past summer.
