Ange Postecoglou says he does not want new signings at Tottenham who are driven simply by the chance to play Champions League football next season.
Spurs are involved in what looks to be a two-way battle for fourth spot with Aston Villa. Unai Emery's side sit two points above Tottenham who have a game in hand, with Manchester United nine points behind Postecoglou's men in sixth with a far worse goal difference. The final UEFA coefficients ahead of the new expanded version of the Champions League could mean that the Premier League receives an extra qualification spot for the team that finishes fifth, if the English clubs continue to progress in this year's European competitions.
Postecoglou was asked whether Champions League football would be an important factor in convincing players to come to the north London club.
