Ange Postecoglou has revealed that Tottenham youngster Mikey Moore has been «really good» in first-team training at Hotspur Way and «hasn't looked out of place». Making a real name for himself at the club, the 16-year-old has been working with Spurs' first-team squad closely over the past fortnight.
football.london reported last Saturday that the highly-rated talent had been involved across a full week of training with Postecoglou and his players. Moore has been tipped for big things after excelling for the club's academy, including last season when he helped Tottenham win both the Premier League Cups at Under-18s and Under-17s level for Stuart Lewis' academy side.
Since signing a new three-year deal last summer that will take him into his first professional contract when he turns 17 in August, Moore has endured mixed fortunes after suffering two painful injuries during the campaign.
Despite spending time on the sidelines with a fractured leg sustained on international duty and then picking up an ankle ligament injury, Moore has still managed to post numbers of 16 goals and nine assists in 14 games for Tottenham's Under-18s. The attacker. who can operate up front, on the wing or as an attacking midfielder, has also scored four goals and laid on two assists for England's Under-17s in their European Championship qualifiers.
Given the big impression he has made at the club, it perhaps came as no surprise to some that Moore was handed an opportunity to train with players such as Son Heung-min and James Maddison at Hotspur Way. It is something he has grasped with both hands, which in turn has left Postecoglou impressed.
