Ange Postecoglou has opened up on a chat with Yves Bissouma that ultimately helped turn his Tottenham career around.
Bissouma joined the club from Brighton for £25million last summer, but endured a turbulent time under former boss Antonio Conte.
Conte publicly explained the Mali international's difficulties since moving to north London.
“The only player that is struggling a bit with the tactical aspect is Bissouma, but also he is improving a lot in every aspect," Conte said last season.
The 27-year-old made 28 appearances in all competitions under the Italian and then missed 12 games towards the end of the campaign due to an ankle injury.
However, Postecoglou's arrival in the summer has breathed fresh life into Bissouma's career.
The midfielder has been one of the standout performers in the Premier League this season, helping inspire Spurs to second place after four matches.
Postecoglou, who was speaking exclusively to talkSPORT, has revealed how he worked his magic on Bissouma in pre-season.
«I don't know whether I have done anything specific with him,» the Aussie told White and Jordan.

»Ultimately, I said to all the players, it is about them now, you never start with a clean slate, but you can start with an opportunity to take hold of your career.
«Show me what you can do, and be the best you can be. I was lucky because Biss [Bissouma] was here from the first day I arrived.
»Many of the boys were playing international football, and I kind of grabbed him. The way he was training… at the time, the first three or four sessions, we mainly had young guys.
«I said 'you can be a leader
