Ethio Electric and Legetafo Legedadi had long been relegated but the final slot remained a game of musical chairs with Wolkite City, Sidama Coffee, Arbaminch City and Dire Dawa in view.
Ahmed Hussein gave Arbaminch City the lead in their game and Eyob Alemayehu equalized for Hawassa City on 23 minutes to earn them the draw.
Wolkite City scored first through Abel Negash in the 14th minute and Adama City's equalizer came in the 27th minute through Adnan Reshad to bring the game at the AbebeBikila Stadium to a 1-1 draw.
In the 3rd game of the day, Mekelakeya who came into the season with the biggest signings, and the most collection of Stars finally produced a result that looked every inch the expectations of their season.
Mekelakeya beat Legetafo Legedadi 4-1 with Minyilu Wondimu on the scoresheet quite early in the game. The midfileder put them ahead in the 3rd minute.
However, Surafel Awol, often the bright light of the hapless Legetafo season equalised for them in the 17th minute and the game went to halftime tied at 1-1.
Girum Hagos gave Mekelakeya the lead in the 58th minute for 2-1 and Minyilu Wondimu got his brace on 68 minutes to give them a 3-1 lead.
